Amhara RHAPCO Conference held |

   Amhara Regional HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment and Care & Support Conference The Amhara regional HIV/AIDS Prevention & Control Office ( HAPCO) conducted Regional Prevention, treatment, care & support conference which entitled “Reaching the Most at Risk” in Bahir_Dar town from 22-24 June 2009. The overall objective of the conference was to create a forum for sharing knowledge and experiences on emerging evidence on effective HIV Prevention, treatment, care & support intervention as well as to review current status of the HIV epidemic and prevention response in the region. The 3 days conference was open by H.E. Ato Ayalew Gobeze President of the Amhara regional state and also the conference was attended, chaired the certain topics and final closed by the regional House of spokeswoman H.E. Dr. Misrak Mekonen.. Key stakeholders from various organizations including the representatives of PEPFAR, World Bank, UN, NEP+, FHAPCO, local and international NGOs and CBO’s were attended. |

ART Updates of the month Yekatit, 2001 EFY |

Federal HAPCO published the monthly update on ART in Ethiopia, "HIV Care and ART Update for the month Yekatiti, 2001 (as of March 9, 2009)” . The update lists ART uptake by site and number of new enrolled patients in Ethiopia as of the above mentioned dates.

Journalists laud workshop |
|
Federal HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office organized a five day sensitization workshop for Journalists drawn from print and electronics media in the country from June 8-12, 2009 at Ghion Hotel.
The aim of the workshop has been to increase the awareness of Journalists on the national social mobilization tools and to enhance the contribution of media for the national Multisectoral response to HIV and AIDS.
At the end of the workshop the participants applauded the organizers and the presenters and promised that they would do their level best to integrate the objectives, principles and strategies of different social mobilization tools of HIV/AIDS prevention and control in producing different media programs related to HIV and AIDS |
