To effectively address the challenge posed by the HIV epidemic to employees, their families, institutional operations and economic and social development, it is very crucial to develop and implement sustainable, economically viable, evidence based, quality HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support strategies for employees, their dependents and the community. Furthermore, the dissemination of best practices in all areas of the fight against HIV/AIDS at the workplace, and the enhancement of respect for human rights, behavior change and accountability in institutions in relation to HIV/AIDS is vital. To this effect, the clear understanding of concepts of (internal and external) HIV/AIDS mainstreaming and the relationship\of AIDS and Development is necessary.   Internal Mainstreming

Community Conversations (CC)

community conversations are making contributions toward the enhancement of the intended change processes in important aspects of HIV/AIDS-related community attitudes and practices. To support these preliminary suggestions and claims of success with researched evidences, it was found necessary to carry out an in-depth empirical assessment of the CC projects. Accordingly, this evaluative research was conducted, the results of which are expected to inform policy directions to upscale and replicate the CC methodology in the wider region and elsewhere in the country. The research methodology employed consisted of two types of field data gathering instruments. The first, the qualitative method comprised mainly focus group discussions and key informants interviews. To obtain quantitative data, a survey was undertaken as the second technique by administering standardized questionnaires to sample groups of CC participants and non-participants.
