The Ethiopian public Health Association (EPHA) held its 20th annual conference from October 26-29, 2009 at the Addis Ababa Hilton. Wide range activities were entertained at the conference including oral and poster presentations and panel discussions among others. On October 28, 2009, a panel discussion was chaired by Dr. Betru Tekle, Director General of Federal HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office and Ato Meskele Lera, Deputy Director General of FHAPCO Presented Ethiopia’s Multisectoral response to  HIV/AIDS ; strategies to meet the universal access targets . The presentation focused on the overview of universal access proposed for 2010, activities accomplished so far by the government and planned activities to scale up the multisectoral response. After the deliberation fruitful discussions were held by the participants and panelists.

HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office conducted a three days two workshops with the aim of building the capacity of stakeholders to further strengthen their effort of multisectoral response on HIV and AIDS.  The workshops took place in Adama at Adama Ras and Adama Executive Hotels from October 1-3, 2009.  
The workshop which was conducted at Adama Executive Hotel is entitled “National Sensitization on peer education, life skills and school community conversation guidelines and manuals”.  A total of 114 individuals drawn from Federal and Regional government offices, CBOs, CSos, NGOs and other stakeholders who work on HIV/AIDS have participated in the workshop.
