FHAPCO conducts ToT

Federal HIV/AIDS prevention and control office/FHAPCO/ conducts a week long training of trainers’ /TOT/ on Mainstreaming, Peer education and Behavioral Change Communication /BCC/ material development related to HIV and AIDS in Adama town from May 4-10/ 2009. The participants are drawn from 48 federal ministries and agencies and five sectoral offices of all regions. The main objective of the TOT was to enhance the multisectoral response efforts that are being undertaken by various stakeholders in the country at all levels. Moreover, the participants have had the chance to look into a draft BCC material development guideline and have commented on it in-depth for future use.

Consensus Statement by the Summit: Putting HIV Prevention First

The National Prevention Summit was held from 6-8 April, 2009 at the Sheraton Addis.  The overall Objective of the summit was to accelerate national multi-sectoral HIV prevention efforts.  Its Specific Objectives were to share knowledge and experiences on emerging evidence on effective HIV prevention strategies/interventions to review current status of the HIV epidemic and prevention response in the country, and to identify HIV prevention priorities and feed into the development of SPM II and eventually to a national comprehensive HIV Prevention Road Map.

ART Updates of the month Tahsas 2001EFY

Federal HAPCO published the monthly update on ART in Ethiopia, "HIV Care and ART Update for the month Tahsas, 2001 (as of January 8, 2009)” . The update lists ART uptake by site and number of new enrolled patients in Ethiopia as of the above mentioned dates.
